🤔 Are you looking to drive more web traffic?
👌 The following strategy has repeatably generated 10 times our daily average web traffic.
👇 In this video and written tutorial, I’ll walk you through the steps you can take to increase your web traffic, using this proven strategy.
As we’ve already outlined, this strategy can generate over 10 times your average daily web traffic (see the Google Analytics screenshot of our web traffic growth below). The two red arrows represent when we have implemented this strategy recently.
In addition, this strategy can help you;
✅ Build relationships with influential people in your industry
✅ Increase your credibility by being mentioned by influential people
✅ Learn from the most influential people in your industry
One of the easiest ways to choose an influencer list topic is to simply focus on your industry, for example “Food”, “Technology” or “Manufacturing”. However, consider narrowing your topic to research popular themes within your industry.
For example, if you are in the food industry, you could narrow the influencer list topic down to one of the following;
👥 Chefs (could narrow further to type of chef)
📓 Food Bloggers
🍔 Food brands
▷ Food YouTube channels
Most tools ask you to type in a keyword to identify relevant infleuncers, simply type in the topic you decided in step 1.
Once you have identified the Top 100, you need to create a resource on your website which shares this list, we do this by creating a blog.
It’s vital to craft this resource in a way that provides the best possible chance that the listed influencers will share this resource with their large online audiences (this is how you get all of the web traffic).
Below I’ve shared some examples plus a few key pointers to help.
Example 1: Digital Marketing 2019: Top 100 Influencers
Example 4: Top 10 Agriculture Influencers
Example 5: Top 100 Digital Marketers 2018
Explain The Methodology Behind The List
To improve the credibility of a list of influencers, it’s important to use and communicate a data-backed methodology (see example below).
In this video I talk about how non-data-backed influencer lists are pulling the wool over our eyes: Fake Influencers: Are you a Fake Influencer?
Include Images Of The Listed Influencers
If you include images of the listed influencers, they will be more likely to share the list. We add images of the influencers in the header image, open graph image (for social sharing) and the blog thumbnail.
Linked Back To The Influencer’s Profile/Website
Again, influencers will be more likely to share the list if you have linked to their profiles, or even better, their website.
Make The List Easy To Share
Mention How Readers Can Gain Value From The List
We also mention how the list might be useful to the reader as this will give them reassurances that the content is ‘value-adding’ and can increase time spent on the page.
Once the list is published, the best way to encourage Influencers to share the list is to let them know it is live.
There are a number of channels you can use to do this, from social media DMs, to email, to website contact forms etc.
The channels I’ve found most effective is Twitter DMs and email (see example below).
One final note, I would advise you not to ask influencers to share the list, simply let them know that it is live (see template below);
