Itโs getting more difficult to gain organic reach and engagement on the likes of Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. LinkedIn is bucking this trend and itโs comparatively easy to generate the reach and engagement that you may be lacking on the other socials.
If you want to gain more from your LinkedIn Marketing, this strategy will help you;
โ Gain more views and engagement on your content
โ Gain more profile views
โ Save paid ad spend you may be spending on other platforms
This strategy focuses on looking at what is already working for other LinkedIn content creators, and then developing your own content ideas, based on what already works.
There are a few ways you can identify relevant LinekdIn profiles to analyse including;
1. Check out the 2018 LinkedIn Top Voices
2. Use your initiative or an influencer identification tool like Buzzsumo to think of industry influencers
3. Go to your profile and click the ‘see all activity’ section to see who’s content you frequently engage with and share
Similar to above, scroll down the profile to the โArticles and Activityโ subheading. Click โSee all activityโ. Then click โPostsโ
Scroll down and get an idea of the average amount of views, likes and comments the person gets. Then identify 5-10 posts that have above average views, likes and comments, like the one below.
Try and find patterns in the content that has performed well.
Here are some things to look out for;
โ Media type (text, video, image)
โ Content topic
โ Copy content
โ Copy structure
โ Copy length
โ Tone of voice
โ Language used
โ Hashtags
โ Tagging
Now it’s time to test new LinkedIn content ideas for yourself, based on what you have learnt in step 2.
Note: Don’t just copy others, gather ideas and then create content that is even better.
As an added bonus, here are some of my favourite LinkedIn content creators;
๐ Josh Steimle
๐ Janet Murray
๐ Travis Chambers
๐ Jack Gaisford
๐ Mark Gaisford
๐ James Sinclair
