AND WE’RE LIVE in the office, for those that haven’t seen our office, this is our office! I thought I’d just do a quick livestream because I basically saw a video from Gary Vaynerchuk the other day which really, really struck a chord with me and I thought I’d just talk about it with you guys and try and get your opinion as well. Gary V basically uploaded a video which was all about, when you stop caring what other people think – you WIN’.

So what he meant by that was, anything you do nowadays is looked upon by everyone around you. If you want to do something different or if you’re trying to do something different, everyone frowns upon and judges you. But what I’ve realised is that you just need to get out there and do it. You really really do need to just get out there and do it.
All of you viewers right now, say hello, let me know who you are. What do you really want to do in your life that you’re stopping yourself doing from being judged because this completely struck a chord with me because a while ago before I started doing what I’m doing, I really wanted to start creating videos like this and you know it feels a bit weird videoing yourself talking at a screen and lots of people judge you.

Do any of you guys do live streaming? Do any of you guys do video for your business? It’s such a powerful tool to help market your business and get your name out there but so many people look at you and kind of think, ‘what are they doing’?

What I was saying was so many people out there judge you for what you’re doing, especially things like live streaming like this, creating video, people just judge you and think, ‘what the hell are you doing?’ But I just wanted to kind of speak about this because it is so, so important to just get out there and do it.

What are you not doing right now because you think people might look at you funny or you know people might think, ‘what the hell are they doing’? You know when I started doing this kind of stuff, and still today, like all of my mates rip the hell out of me for it because I’m videoing myself like, ‘what are you doing?’ And it’s laughable, it’s funny, but I’ve made myself do it because it’s such a great way, if you’re watching this and if you own a business, it’s such a great way of getting yourself out there, getting your business out there, getting your brand out there.

By just doing this and trying to share some knowledge, share some expertise and I’d advise you all to go over to Gary V’s Facebook page and watch his video about this.

It’s funny when you watch someone live streaming and you can see the comments and someone said something really, really weird and you can see they’ve seen the comment and you’re like, ahh they saw that weird comment. But, thanks for that Amy, but yeh I just think you guys…Amy you’re ruining this for me!

No but I really think you watching right now should think, what can you be doing that’s going to help you, for example grow your business or if it’s something like you want to go out there and talk about your passion, just start videoing yourself and sharing your knowledge, sharing your passion, sharing your expertise because you’ll really, really…YES live streaming is amazing Amy!

3:38 What are the benefits of livestreaming?

It’s so, so good to just do it and to just share your knowledge and expertise, like I’m trying to provide some little nuggets of value for you because hopefully even if 1 person gets inspired to just start doing a video like this to share your knowledge, share your expertise, there’s so many benefits to doing it.

One of the benefits is to just give yourself confidence to get out there in front of the camera to share your expertise. Things like this are the starting blocks to getting confidence to speaking at events. Speaking at events is a great way…’Makes me want to start streaming more on Twitch’…Do it!

But things like this just give you confidence to get out there and just start getting in front of people, getting your business in front of people and just seriously, get out there and do it!

4:26 How to get started

If you’re not confident at all with speaking to the camera or speaking to someone, start by planning. Do a little notepad, write some notes down and think, ‘what could I speak about today? What am I passionate about? What knowledge could I share?’ Just write some notes to think about what you could share.

Yes Amy..’Everyone looks great, your confidence will grow’ I so, so agree, when I started doing this stuff, personally, I was like, ‘OH MY GOD what am I going to say?’ But it’s just about planning it a bit and just thinking, what are you going to say? Try and share some value, try and share some knowledge, try and share some expertise.

Good question, how do you not let others effect your decisions though? Thank you for that question coolfacts! The way you don’t let others effect your decision is to just not think about what they’re thinking about.

The people that are stopping you from being really successful are the ones that aren’t. Because those kind of people don’t like other people being successful. They see someone like you, they see someone like me or anyone else who’s trying to get out there and do something with their life and they think, ‘they’re trying to do well’ and they feel bad. All I think that you should do, to reply to your question, is to just understand, don’t like criticise them, just understand why they are doing that. Why they’re stopping you, why they’re trying to criticise you for doing what you want to do. So I just think the reason they’re doing it is because they can see someone else making something of themselves. Someone else doing something to push themselves forward and they don’t like that because they haven’t got the confidence themselves to do that.

6:15 You don’t have to start with livestreaming

But I really, really think, all of you 9 viewers right now say hello, but secondly, seriously try and think, it doesn’t have to be a livestream, you can get on Snapchat, you could start doing some Snapchats, so it doesn’t have to be live. You can also just do videos of yourself and upload it to Twitter, upload it to Facebook.

Just think of what people will be interested in, what will your audience be interested in? So normally, this is a bit different for me just talking about this. But normally I’d be sharing Digital Marketing tips, Twitter, Social Media tips, actionable things you can do. But today I thought NO I’ve seen this video that Gary V’s made and it really made me think I want to try and inspire someone else to get out there and start doing this for themselves.

So it doesn’t even have to be creating video, but just think, what’s holding you back from doing something that you think others may think, ‘I’m a bit of an idiot for doing this’? Just ignore those people, ignore those people! Just get out there and do it!

7:17 Once you take action and stop caring, you win

Once you start doing this stuff, or doing what you kind of felt uncomfortable doing before because other people judged you. Once you get out there and do it, you are winning! When you stop caring what other people think YOU ARE WINNING! Because the people that are there judging you are the losers and the people that are out there doing this kind of thing are the winners.

Seriously, seriously you should all get out there and start doing this stuff. Especially on this kind of level, if you own a business and you want to get out there more, you want to get more business, you want to get exposure for your business, you want to get more leads, get on something like this. Periscope, get on Facebook Live, get on Snapchat, even just taking a video of yourself. Start sharing your knowledge and sharing your expertise ok.

7:57 What could you video yourself talking about?

So one way, one actionable way that you can start to think of, ‘what could I video myself talking about?’ Here’s an actionable tip that you can take away with you. Think about in your business, what questions do people ask you? Literally what questions regularly come up for you that you have to continuously answer and answer and answer and answer?

8:20 Estate Agent example

So for example, it could be erm, you could own an estate agent, for example, let’s just do this example. You own an estate agent and people always ask you, ‘how do I apply for a mortgage, what’s the process of applying for a mortgage’? Everyone continuously asks that question. What you could do as the estate agent is you could video yourself simply answering that question, literally get your phone, this is on my iPhone, get your phone and plan it a little bit and just answer that question. So I would say, Hey it’s Dan from Dan’s estate agents, I regularly get asked how you apply for a Mortgage, so I’ve come on here to answer that question to try and provide some value. So the way you do it is you do this, this, this and this and that’s how you apply for a mortgage. And if you need any help then please come to me.’

Like that’s an example of providing value upfront. And it can also be a lead generator. It can seriously be a lead generator to get more business by giving out value and doing this kind of thing so I really, really, really hope that some of you guys have got some value out of this.

But just video, doing stuff like this, video is like the way forward! Seriously because people are so lazy nowadays, no one can be bothered to read loads of stuff, listen to stuff, they just want to watch something where they can get the information they need – answered. That’s where the example of the mortgage and the estate agent comes in. You’re answering questions for people.

10:06 How to decide what video content to create

So literally, today, sit down and write on a piece of paper every single question you can think of that your audience, or your customers, even if you work for someone, what questions do they constantly ask you?

Write down all of those questions and then write down some notes for the answers of those questions. Each of those is a video like this. It could be a 2 minute video, it could be a 1 minute video. Just get your video stuff out there because if you start to answer questions out there, you’re going to start to grow your business.

10:38 Customers have problems and you have answers

Because customers have problems, customers have questions and you, as the business, you have the answers. The challenge is finding where these people are asking these questions and answering them. Social Media is somewhere where people ask sooo many questions.

Your customers are asking so many questions right now and it’s down to you to answer them and video, doing stuff like this, facing the phone at yourself, feeling bloody weird like I do, but you know, it’s worth it. It’s so, so worth it. And that’s it. That is it. When you stop worrying about what other people think, YOU WIN! Peace.
