Instagram

🤔 Fancy learning from the 5 Digital Marketing experts that taught me (almost) everything I know about Digital Marketing?

🎯 It’s been an interesting journey from knowing nothing to getting to where I am now.

👇 Throughout this journey, there are 5 Digital Marketing experts who stand out as having the biggest positive impact on my progress.

Scroll down, follow them and learn. It worked pretty well for me.

The Top Digital Marketing Experts Who Taught Us Everything

#5 Matthew BarbyFacebookTwitterLinkedInWebsite

Matthew Barby is the Global Head of Growth & SEO at HubSpot. He’s also an award winning Digital Marketing consultant who doesn’t hold anything back with the actionable content he produces.

His’s articles were some of the first and most useful articles I’ve ever read.

Best thing Matthew taught me

Social Media growth. His ‘growing a social following from nothing’ (recently updated) article is what helped me start to grow my social media following from scratch.

#4 Matthew Woodward FacebookTwitterWebsite

Matthew Woodward is a multi award winning business & internet marketing blogger & international keynote speaker.

I actually found this Matthew through the other one above. Matthew’s step by step tutorials taught me so much.

Best thing this Matthew taught me

Email Marketing. Matthew’s Ultimate Email Marketing Part 1 & Part 2 helped me start to build and manage my email list. The autoresponder strategy he shares in the tutorials still helps us generate a ton of traffic to old blog posts to this day.

#3 Michael Stelzner/ Social Media Examiner FacebookTwitterInstagramLinkedInWebsite

Michael Stelzner is the founder and CEO of Social Media Examiner and Social Media Marketing World. He is also the host of the Social Media Marketing podcast.

When I discovered Social Media Examiner, my life changed (no joke). I have learnt so, SO much from the tactical articles shared on the Social media Examiner blog.

These guys inspired me to start the KPS Digital marketing blog and I’m now fortunate enough to write for them too. I still read their articles every week!

Best thing Michael Stelzner/ Social Media Examiner taught me

How to become a better writer. I’ve obviously learnt a lot to do with social media, but I’d say the support they’ve given me in terms of my writing has had the biggest impact on me and our business.

#2 Ryan Deiss/ Digital Marketer FacebookTwitterWebsite

Ryan Deiss is the founder and CEO of DigitalMarketer. If you haven’t signed up to these guys email list you need to.

Again, the amount I’ve learnt from the articles, templates and case studies these guys post is in-sane.

Best thing Ryan Deiss/ Digital Marketer taught me

Facebook Ads. The templates, guides, resources and practical tips they provide for Facebook Ads has been incredibly useful. Their The 7-Step Facebook Advertising Game Plan was where I got started with Facebook Ads.

#1 Gary Vaynerchuk FacebookTwitterInstagramLinkedInYouTube | Website

Gary Vaynerchuk, is an American serial entrepreneur, four-time New York Times bestselling author, speaker and internationally recognized internet personality.

And then there was Gary Vee…The impact Gary has had on me and KPS Digital Marketing is incredible.

His books are amazing. His content is amazing. You need to follow him.

Best thing Gary Vaynerchuk taught me

The bigger picture. Gary differs from the others on this list as I haven’t learnt as many ‘tactics’ from him (I’ve still learnt a lot of tactics from him by watching what he’s doing).

Gary has taught me how to market for the year we live in, about the importance of giving value, being patient, being self-aware, putting the work in and so much more.

I even got to meet Gary at his #ASKGARYVEE book launch in London and I made it onto the #ASKGARYVEE Show Episode 230!

I can second Gary Vee as a great resource. He talks a lot in generalities, but he does the big picture like no one else. Someone who is really important to me is Brian Dean. I’ve learned a lot about creating in-depth, amazing content that will stand out, get backlinks, and get shares from him.

    • Hey Niel, thanks for the comment!

Also, thanks for sharing Brian Dean, this adds to the list of experts our readers can learn from. 🙂

Are there any particular articles/resources Brian has created that stand out as being ‘the most’ helpful?

It would be great if you could share the links here so other readers can benefit from them. 🙂

      Best,

      Dan

I think Brian Dean’s best article is his one on the skyscraper method: http://backlinko.com/skyscraper-technique. It completely goes through the process of creating an exceptional piece of content that gets shares and backlinks.

Another one of his articles that I love is this one on search enginer ranking factors:
http://backlinko.com/search-engine-ranking analyzing search rankings Not just because the information is useful, but also because it shows how to take a lot of data and present it in a way to make a great article. I’m using it as inspiration for an analysis of 1,000 infographics that I’m going to be posting this week.
