Snapchat 2.0 Update: Everything you need to know

Would you like to learn everything you need to know about the new Snapchat 2.0 update ?

The huge Snapchat 2.0 update comes with a ton of cool new features which make it the most vivid, human way to chat.

This post will provide you with everything you need to know about the Snapchat 2.0 update. If you prefer videos, then skip down to the bottom of this post and watch the two explainer videos.

Snapchat stories auto-play

This is by far the most significant update in terms of marketing and brand exposure. With this feature, when you get to the end of watching a Snapchat Story (or swipe left) the next Story in your list will start playing.

Why is this such a big deal for marketers? Because Snapchat story views will increase by 20% - 30%, driving brand exposure & more opportunities to grab your audience's attention. The slick switch from story to story makes an easy lean-back watching experience for Snapchatters.

New Video & Audio Notes Features

The new Video Notes feature lets you record and send a quick thumbnail size looping GIF up to a max of 10 seconds. The idea behind this is so users can react with their face instantly with short bursts of video reaction magic.

Audio Notes work similarly, you can send short audio clips when you're on the move and can't type.

New Video & Audio Call Features

Video and Audio Calls can now be initiated even if the recipient isn't already in the chat. This feature is similar to WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger, making Snapchat more of a phone than a stand alone video communication App.

New chat features

There are lots of cool new features in chat which add to the Snapchat experience. During Video and Audio Calls, you can simultaneously send camera roll photos which appear translucent overlaid on the chat window. You can also send multiple photos at a time in chat and mark them up with Snapchat's text, drawing, and filter tools first.

Another really cool Snapchat 2.0 feature is the ability for both users in the chat to simultaneously toggle between Video & Audio Calls, Notes, Stickers and Text, making it easy for users to start or stop transmitting and just listen or watch as their environment changes.

200+ new stickers

Finally, over 200 new stickers are available within private chat. The new update also allows you to find stickers based on words you have typed in the chat. Simply write a word like 'love you' and then press the sticker icon within the chat.
